Greece will reopen to tourists from 14 May

Yes, the Greek Minister of Tourism has indicated that Greece will reopen to tourists from 14 May.

Although there are a few things you should know before you book your holiday.

Therefore, make sure you read the list below before you look for the Greek sun.

Negative test result and corona hotel

Greece will only open to travelers who have been vaccinated and travelers who have a recent negative Covid-19 test.

So before you can really enjoy a white beach with blue water, you must first show a negative test result or proof of vaccination.

Just like last year, travelers are also randomly checked and tested upon arrival. But rapid tests are also available this year. This means you do not have to wait 24 hours in quarantine for the result.

If you have a positive result on your test, the Greek government will take care of any hospitalization or stay in Corona Hotel. Ideally, you don't have to worry about having to spend all your hard-earned money on a Corona hotel yourself.

Since we do not yet know when we can get a vaccination, it is a bit more difficult to fix a vaccination certificate.

But luckily you also come in with a negative test result and then you can enjoy the Greek beaches, gyros, ouzo, blue houses, fresh feta and hospitality.
